Enjoy some cookies and juice and take in the breathtaking views along Chapman’s Peak drive (subject to road conditions).
Put the flap back into you flippers with a visit to the endangered (and very entertaining) penguins at Boulder’s Beach in Simon’s Town. The locals protected them and the colony grew. Now the site is a state park. The locals sometimes wonder if it has been a blessing or not. Penguins rule the beach and tend to be late night party animals.

SHARK CAGE DIVING
Are you an adrenalin junkie? If jumping into a cage surrounded by sharks sounds like you then read on! Gansbaai is a little over 2 hours from Cape Town and is the world’s best place to see Great White Sharks.
We have teamed up with two of the most experienced and professional shark diving companies, with a typical day starting early from our hostel with an included transfer out there. On arrival you will have some breakfast and a briefing before boarding your boat with other thrill seekers and cruising out to the Dyer Island area where sharks are feeding. Snacks and drinks also get served on the boat.
There are various cage experiences, but usually you are in a 5 person cage which sits on the surface and you are equipped with a wetsuit, goggles and snorkel. Normally you get two periods of around 15 minutes in the cage depending on how many people on board. If you are lucky a shark with breach right next to the cage! Awesome!
Our deluxe package also includes a marine biologist on board with you and full briefing from them before the trip. We recommend this package for anyone interested in the ecology and affect on marine life in the area. There are also less people on this specially prepared catamaran.
A BUCKET LOAD OF ADRENALIN!
WHALE WATCHING
From July to November, Southern Right Whales come to the southern coast of South Africa to breed and give birth to their young. The town of Hermanus about 2 hours from Cape Town is the centre of whale watching with it’s own Whale Crier announcing sightings throughout the day.
Our Whale Watching tour takes you from our hostel direct to this area, then we have the flexibility to move around to the best viewing areas. The whales are often right next to the cliffs, so land based viewing is excellent.
We include a picnic lunch and an afternoon wine tasting in the area plus expert commentary from our guide. There is also the option of taking a whale watching cruise to get close to Southern Rights off shore.
